  • 1 pound large or extra large shrimp, peeled and deveined, tail on or tail off Thaw frozen shrimp in cold water if necessary.
Seasoning and Flavorings
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning Adjust salt content based on the saltiness of the seasoning.
  • 4 tablespoons butter, melted Can be substituted with plant-based butter or olive oil for dairy-free.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Helps prevent the butter from feeling heavy and assists with browning.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic preferred, garlic powder can be used as a substitute.
  • 1 each lemon Squeeze lemon juice on top before serving.
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped Optional, adds freshness and visual appeal.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (or 375°F if your oven runs hot).
  2. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.
  3. In a bowl, toss shrimp with melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, and Cajun seasoning until evenly coated.
  4. Spread the shrimp out on a sheet pan or baking dish in a single layer.
Cooking
  1. Bake for about 7 to 10 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink, slightly curled, and opaque.
  2. Squeeze lemon on top and sprinkle parsley if desired. Adjust salt to taste.

Notes

Start checking shrimp at 7 minutes to avoid overcooking. Shrimp continue to cook after being pulled from the oven. Lining the pan with foil or parchment paper can assist with cleanup.
